Beer contains a variety of bioactive ingredients and trace elements that can regulate bodily functions, and moderate consumption of beer can enhance immune responses. This study aimed to investigate the potential benefits of moderate consumption of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beer on the gut microbiome, immunity, and intestinal barrier function in immunosuppressed BALB/c mice induced by cyclophosphamide (CTX). Model mice with CTX-induced immunosuppression were administered alcoholic or non-alcoholic beer or galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) for 28 consecutive days.

possesses a significant concentration of bioactive compounds and has been demonstrated to have a variety of pharmacological properties, although its sprout has not been extensively studied. Thus, the protective effects of sprout hydroalcoholic extract (BNSE) on lipid homeostasis, hepatotoxicity, and nephrotoxicity in cyclophosphamide (CYP)-induced toxicity in rats were examined in this study. Four experimental rat groups ( = 8 for each group) were examined as follows: NR, normal rats that received normal saline by oral gavage daily; CYP, injected with a single dose of CYP at 250 mg kg intraperitoneally (i.

Cyclophosphamide (CPAm) is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent that exhibits potent anti-cancer properties but is often associated with debilitating side effects. Despite its efficacy, the management of CPAm-induced toxicities remains a significant clinical challenge. There has been growing interest in exploring complementary and alternative therapies to mitigate these adverse effects in recent years, and this may be a chance for the earthworm-derived preparation, Venetin-1.
