Background: Radix Bupleuri (RB) and acetaminophen (APAP) are two popular medications having potential hepatotoxicity and substantial risks of irrational co-administration and excessive use, posing an overlooked danger of drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Autophagy is a protective mechanism against APAP-induced DILI, yet, saikosaponin d (SSd) in RB has been characterized to regulate autophagy, although the current findings are controversial.
Purpose: We aim to elucidate whether SSd promoted APAP-induced liver injury by regulating autophagy.

Background: Due to its availability and perceived safety, paracetamol is recommended even during pregnancy and for neonates. It is used frequently alone or in combination with other drugs required for the treatment of various chronic conditions. The aim of this study was to investigate potential effects of drug interactions on paracetamol metabolism and its placental transfer and entry into the developing brain.

: In clinical practice, the prevalent problem of polypharmacy could result in increased risks of drug-drug interactions. Regorafenib (REG) is commonly co-administered with paracetamol (PA) as a treatment protocol in cancer patients with pain therapy. : This study aimed to demonstrate the effect of paracetamol on the pharmacokinetic parameters of regorafenib and its metabolites following a single administration of both substances in rats.

Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose is still a leading cause of drug-induced liver injury (DILI), accompanied with severe inflammatory response. However, the therapy for APAP-induced DILI is rather limited. The combined application of natural products to treat DILI induced by APAP may be a new direction of the research.
