In 7 patients suffering from orthostatic hypotension the early behaviour of arterial mean blood pressure was studied in the tilting table experiment under influence of etilefrine, norfenefrine, gepefrine (D-(+)-1-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-aminopropan-(2R, 3R)-hydrogentartrat) and of its I-isomere. Significant improvement of early orthostatic disregulation of the arterial pressure could be only observed under gepefrine. Amelioration seems to be induced by sensitization of the pressoreceptors.

Purpose: To evaluate the reliability and validity of spinal alignment measurements in the raised arm standing posture using a smartphone app.

Background: An inclinometer is a reliable tool for measuring spinal alignment. Measurement of static standing posture spinal curvature angles using smartphone inclinometer applications has been investigated in the lumbar spine but has not been reported for the thoracic spine.

We report a patient with autonomic dysfunction following acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, presenting progressively worsening severe orthostatic hypotension to the point where she could no longer sit or stand. The patient experienced a delay in diagnosis after an initial misdiagnosis of a functional neurological disorder. Persistent orthostatic symptoms prompted us to re-examine the diagnosis and explore other diagnostic tools, which ultimately allowed us to identify and treat severe immune-mediated orthostatic hypotension (OH).

This contribution details a new high-fidelity finite element analysis (FEA) methodology for the investigation of the effect of the graft size on the pressure distribution developing at the calcaneocuboid joint after the Evans osteotomy procedure. The FEA model includes all 28 bones of the foot up to the distal end of fibula and tibia as well as soft tissues, tendons, and muscles. The developed FEA model was validated by comparing the in-vivo pressure distribution on the foot plantar with the in-silico results, resulting in a low deviation equal to 7.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between a Power Leg Press test (PLP) with walking capacity and self-reported performance and participation in individuals with Cerebral Palsy (CP), and to compare the strength of the associations between two power tests (PLP and isokinetic (IsoK)) with walking capacity.

Methods: Ambulatory individuals with CP (n = 33; age 17.89 ± 7.

Background: Several studies have suggested that approximately 10 hours of inactivity can reduce motor performance. Specifically, restricted lower limb movement may impair postural stability, subsequently increasing the incidence of falls. However, the relationship between postural sway and its related factors remains unclear.
