Background: Isoproterenol (ISO) is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor agonist known for its vasodilatory effects. This experiment aims to investigate whether intrauterine ISO administration could alter vascular indices and follicular development in postpartum Holstein cows.
Objectives: The objectives are to evaluate the effects of intrauterine ISO administration on vascular changes and its impact on follicular development compared to placebo groups.

The G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) pharmacology accounts for a significant field in research, clinical studies, and therapeutics. Computer-aided drug discovery is an evolving suite of techniques and methodologies that facilitate accelerated progress in drug discovery and repositioning. However, the structure-activity relationships of molecules targeting GPCRs are highly challenging in many cases since slight structural modifications can lead to drastic changes in biological functionality.

Background: Traumatic injury leads to gut dysbiosis with changes in microbiome diversity and conversion toward a "pathobiome" signature characterized by a selective overabundance of pathogenic bacteria. The use of non-selective beta antagonism in trauma patients has been established as a useful adjunct to reduce systemic inflammation. We sought to investigate whether beta-adrenergic blockade following trauma would prevent the conversion of microbiome to a "pathobiome" phenotype.

β-adrenergic receptors (β-ARs) play a critical role in modulating learning, memory, emotionality, and long-term synaptic plasticity. Recent studies indicate that β-ARs are necessary for long-term potentiation (LTP) induction in the ventral hippocampus under moderate synaptic activation conditions that do not typically induce LTP. To explore potential dorsoventral differences in β-AR-mediated effects, we applied the β-AR agonist isoproterenol (10 μM, 30 min) to dorsal and ventral hippocampal slices, recording field excitatory postsynaptic potentials (fEPSPs) and population spikes (PSs) from the CA1 region.
