We investigated the association between a 500 MBq dose of radioactive iodine treatment (RAIT) and both thyroid nodule volume and thyroid function in patients with a single autonomous functioning thyroid nodule (AFTN). We retrospectively studied 201 patients with an AFTN who received RAIT at a dose of 500 MBq and were followed up for more than 2 years. Thyroid function at diagnosis, thyroid antibody positivity, treatment with antithyroid drugs before RAIT, cystic components of the nodule, and I uptake outside the nodule were assessed.

Objective: This study aimed to determine whether a relationship exist between pre-therapy 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels and the remission/negative conversion rates of thyrotropin receptor antibody (TRAB) during treatment in patients with newly diagnosed Graves' disease (GD).
Methods: 171 patients were included from the Endocrinology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University in March 2013 to April 2016. Ninety-five patients of them were diagnosed at our hospital but transferred to local hospitals for treatment.

Autoimmune polyglandular syndromes (APS) are characterized by associations of two or more autoimmune diseases (AID). APS type 3 is characterized by the presence of autoimmune thyroid disease associated with other AID, excluding adrenal gland involvement. Here we report a case of a 64-year-old male, with history of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), diagnosed at the age of 32, who was referred to a Diabetes consultation in 2014 due to poor metabolic control.

Background: Thyroid auto-antibodies could be one of the many causes of infertility in women, especially with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) with a prevalence of 5%-15%. Patients with anti-thyroid antibodies have shown significantly lower fertilisation rates, implantation rates, lower pregnancy rates and increased risk of first-trimester abortions when compared with those without anti-thyroid antibodies.
Aim: The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of thyroid auto-antibodies in euthyroid infertile women with PCOS and to compare the prevalence of thyroid autoantibodies in euthyroid infertile women with PCOS and without PCOS.

Adequate control of thyroid function is crucial for optimal pregnancy outcomes and neurodevelopment of the offspring and testing for thyroid function is ideally performed using manufacturer and gestation specific reference ranges. Whilst universal screening for thyroid dysfunction is not recommended, targeted case finding of women at risk of thyroid disease during pregnancy is advised. A number of controversies continue to fuel debate including: (i) the target range for thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in women with subfertility planning pregnancy (ii) management of mild thyroid hypofunction before and during pregnancy (iii) the treatment of TPO-antibody positive euthyroid women with levothyroxine (iv) the optimal choice of antithyroid treatment in women with hyperthyroidism.
