Composting urban and rural wastes into organic fertilizers for land application is considered the best way to dispose of and recycle waste resources. However, there are some concerns about the long-term effects of applying various organic fertilizers on soils, food safety, and health risks derived from heavy metal(loid)s (HMs). A long-term field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of continuous application of chicken manure compost (CM), sewage sludge compost (SSC), and domestic waste compost (DWC) for wheat on the accumulation, transfer, and health risks of HMs.

Drought adversely affects the growth and performance of plants. By contrast, the application of organic modifiers can improve plant growth by supplying nutrients and water. The influence of foliar application of organic fertilizer under water deficit conditions on growth traits, chemical composition, and fruit quality of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.

SH2 (Src Homology 2) domains play a crucial role in phosphotyrosine-mediated signaling and have emerged as promising drug targets, particularly in cancer therapy. STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3), which contains an SH2 domain, plays a pivotal role in cancer progression and immune evasion because it facilitates the dimerization of STAT3, which is essential for their activation and subsequent nuclear translocation. SH2 domain-mediated STAT3 inhibition disrupts this binding, reduces phosphorylation of STAT3, and impairs dimerization.

The Australian-Multidomain Lifestyle Intervention to reduce dementia risk (AU-ARROW) is an ongoing 2-yearintervention, which is the Australian contribution to the World-Wide FINGERS network. Here we report on preliminary findings of baseline dietary energy and nutrient intakes of AU-ARROW participants.

Background: The G protein-coupled receptor GPR39 is heavily associated with the pathogenesis of neurologic disorders, including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related dementia (ADRD). Its dysregulation of zinc 2+ (Zn) processes triggers metallic dyshomeostasis, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, microtubule destabilization, synaptic dysfunction, and tau phosphorylation-all hallmarks of neurodegeneration. Hence, pharmacologic modulation of GPR39 could offer an effective treatment against AD and ADRD.
