Objective: This research assesses renoprotective effects of saracatinib (Src) in diabetic nephropathy (DN) and the potential underlying processes.
Materials And Methods: Rats were divided into: control, DN, DN + Met + Los, DN + Met + Src, and DN + Met + Los + Src. Rats' ABP, urinary albumin, urinary nephrin, and creatinine clearance were assessed.

Background: The uremic toxin indoxyl sulfate (IS) is an important factor in chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression. Inhibitors of the renin-angiotensin system and add-on therapy with mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonists can help reduce proteinuria and suppress CKD progression. However, the association between IS and MR activation remains unknown.

Background: High dietary sodium intake is a major cardiovascular risk factor and adversely affects blood pressure control. Patients with primary aldosteronism (PA) are at increased cardiovascular risk, even after medical treatment, and high dietary sodium intake is common in these patients. Here, we analyze the impact of a moderate dietary sodium restriction on microbiome composition and immunophenotype in patients with PA.

Cardiac remodeling encompasses structural alterations such as hypertrophy, fibrosis, and dilatation, alongside numerous cellular and molecular functional aberrations, constituting a pivotal process in the advancement of heart failure (HF). 4-Hydroxychalcone (4-HCH) is a class of naturally occurring compounds with variable phenolic structures, and has demonstrated the preventive efficacy in hyperaldosteronism, inflammation and renal injury. However, the role of 4-HCH in the regulation of cardiac remodeling remains uncertain.

Context: Adrenal venous sampling (AVS) is recommended for subtyping primary aldosteronism (PA), however, it is unreliable when apparent bilateral aldosterone suppression (ABAS) occurs, defined as aldosterone/cortisol ratio in the adrenal vein being bilaterally lower than that in the inferior vena cava. The value of Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in PA subtyping when ABAS occurs is unclear.
Objective: To determine whether LC-MS/MS can reduce the occurrence of ABAS and misdiagnosis of PA subtyping.
