Triplet-triplet energy transfer (TEnT) is of particular interest in various photochemical, photobiological, and energy science processes. It involves the exchange of spin and energy of electrons between two molecular fragments. Here, quasi-diabatic self-consistent field solutions were used to obtain the diabatic states involved in TEnT.

The retromer is a highly conserved eukaryotic complex formed by the cargo selective complex (CSC) and the sorting nexin (SNX) dimer subcomplexes. Its function is protein recycling and recovery from the endosomes to conduct the target molecules to the trans-Golgi network or the plasma membrane. The protozoan responsible for human amoebiasis, , exhibits an active membrane movement and voracious phagocytosis, events in which the retromer may be fully involved.

Significantly, the Raman activity of O-D vibrations was greatly enhanced by two orders of magnitude due to electron transfer in DMSO molecules. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations showed that the O-D Raman activity was significantly enhanced in the DMSO-DO dimer compared to the DO dimer.

Phosphorus in crucial for all living organisms. In vertebrate, cellular phosphate homeostasis is partly controlled by XPR1, a poorly characterized inositol pyrophosphate-dependent phosphate exporter. Here, we report the cryo-EM structure of human XPR1, which forms a loose dimer with 10 transmembrane helices (TM) in each protomer.

Proton-electron mixed conductors (PEMCs) are an essential component for potential applications in hydrogen separation and energy conversion devices. However, the exploration of PEMCs with excellent mixed conduction, which is quantified by the ambipolar conductivity, σ = σσ/(σ + σ) (σ: electronic conductivity; σ: proton conductivity), is still a great challenge, largely due to the lack of structural characterization of both conducting mechanisms. In this study, we prepared a molecule-based proton-electron mixed-conducting cation radical salt, (ET)[Pt(pop)(Hpop)]·PhCN (ET: bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene, pop: PHO), by electrocrystallization.
