Background And Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is recognized as one of the major public health problems and deadly malignancies worldwide. Today, the use of compounds of natural origin in the treatment of cancer and other diseases has been of interest to researchers. Marine compounds such as algae have anti-cancer effects.

Background: Previously, Japanese Environmental Mutagen and Genome Society/Mammalian Mutagenicity Study Group/Toxicogenomics Study Group (JEMS/MMS toxicogenomic study group) proposed 12 genotoxic marker genes (Aen, Bax, Btg2, Ccnf, Ccng1, Cdkn1a, Gdf15, Lrp1, Mbd1, Phlda3, Plk2, and Tubb4b) to discriminate genotoxic hepatocarcinogens (GTHCs) from non-genotoxic hepatocarcinogens (NGTHCs) and non-genotoxic non-hepatocarcinogens (NGTNHCs) in mouse and rat liver using qPCR and RNA-Seq and confirmed in public rat toxicogenomics data, Open TG-GATEs, by principal component analysis (PCA). On the other hand, the U.S.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third most common cause of cancer death and disability in the world. Citrus species and their constituents have many biological activities including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties. This study aimed to assess the anti-carcinogenic effects and postulate the possible mechanisms of action for Citrus limon fruit peel hydroethanolic extract (CLFPHE) and limonene in diethylnitrosamine (DEN)/2-acetylaminofluorene (2AAF)-induced HCC in male Wistar rats.

Background: Cancer initiation has long been "unknowable" in biology and medicine. In 1987, however, Moore and our research group observed single hepatocytes and minifoci that were strongly positive for glutathione S-transferase P-form (GST-P) in the rat liver as early as 2 to 3 days after initiation by diethylnitrosamine prior to the induction of GST-P foci and nodules. The induction of GST-P single hepatocytes, precursors of GST-P foci and nodules, was considered genetic.
