Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive and irreversible lung disease with high mortality and limited treatment options. While single-dose bleomycin-induced models are commonly used to investigate the pathogenesis of IPF, they fail to adequately replicate the complex pathological features in human patients, thereby hindering comprehensive investigations. Previous studies utilizing repetitive bleomycin injections have demonstrated a closer resemblance to human IPF pathology; however, the time- and resource-intensive nature of this approach presents significant drawbacks.

Background: Traditional childhood uvulectomy (TCU) is an unregulated cultural practice associated with significant health risks, including infections, anemia, aspiration, and oral or pharyngeal injuries. The reuse of unsafe tools such as blades, needles, or thread loops exacerbates the spread of infectious diseases like HIV and hepatitis B. Despite its clinical significance, the pooled prevalence and associated factors of TCU have not been adequately examined through systematic reviews or meta-analyses.

The prone "swimmers" position is preferable for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) as it provides the best visualization for selective bile duct cannulation. However, "swimmers" position does not comply with best-practice patient positioning guidelines. Our objective was to determine whether the semi-prone patient position was suitable for ERCP without negatively influencing the outcomes of the procedure.

Aim: This study aimed to analyze the upper airway dimensions in adult patients with different anteroposterior (sagittal) skeletal malocclusions (class I, II, and III) using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study involved 90 CBCT records from adult subjects who were categorized into three skeletal groups based on their ANB values: Class I ( = 30), class II ( = 30), and class III ( = 30) and were evaluated. The following upper airway measurements were considered: oropharyngeal airway volume, hypopharyngeal airway volume, pharyngeal airway volume, oropharyngeal airway length, hypopharyngeal airway length, pharyngeal airway length, the most constricted site of the pharyngeal airway, and the most constricted cross-sectional area (MIN-CSA) of the pharyngeal airway.
