Lectins are naturally occurring agglutinins which are produced more from plants sources compared to animal sources. The present study aims to screen the potential applications of lectin isolated from the mangrove plant, Poir. This root agglutinin of showed highest HA titre with buffalo erythrocytes.

: Fibroblast activation protein (FAP)-targeted theranostic radiopharmaceuticals have shown desired tumor-to-background organ selectivity due to the ubiquitous presence of FAP within the tumor microenvironment. However, suboptimal tumor retention and fast clearance have hindered their use to deliver effective cancer therapies. With well-documented FAP-targeting moieties and linkers appending them to optimal chelators, the development of copper radiopharmaceuticals has attracted considerable interest, given the fact that an ideal theranostic pair of copper radionuclides (Cu: t = 12.

Mimosine, a non-essential amino acid derived from plants, has a strong affinity for binding divalent and trivalent metal cations, including Zn, Ni, Fe, and Al. This ability endows mimosine with significant antimicrobial and anti-cancer properties, making it a promising candidate for therapeutic applications. Previous research has demonstrated the effectiveness of mimosine-containing peptides as metal chelators, offering a safer alternative to conventional chelation agents.

Mineral elements typically act as transported substrates for metal tolerance proteins (MTPs). The chelation of MTPs with heavy metal ions is a suggestive detoxification pathway in plants; therefore, the trade-off between transporting mineral elements and chelating excess toxic metal ions is inevitable. Gallium (Ga) is an emerging pollutant associated with high-tech industries.
