We used 201Tl-chloride for studying and differentiating thyroid areas shown to be 'cold' in previous 131I or 99mTc scanning. We investigated sixteen thyroid neoplasms that were removed surgically shortly afterwards. We found an intense intranodular accumulation of 301T1 in five scintigraphs shown to be of histologically malignant neoplasms, and an intense accumulation also in one of those shown to be histologically benign. We did not detect any 201Tl-chloride accumulation in two cases of thyroiditis; one of these had shown an intense accumulation in a previous 131Cs scintigram.

Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge is an ornamental plant known for its diverse flower colors, ranging from white to dark violet. To elucidate the regulatory mechanisms underlying flower color, we conducted QTL mapping and identified candidate genes involved in anthocyanidin accumulation. Total anthocyanidin content and six anthocyanidins in the corollas of S.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of pre-conditioning exercise on body lipid metabolism, leptin secretion, and the downstream pathways at the early stage of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Materials And Methods: The T2DM model was established using an 8-week high-sugar, high-fat diet combined. The T2DM model was established using an 8-week high-sugar, high-fat diet combined with streptozocin (STZ) injection.

A hypoxia-targeting and hypoxia-responsive nano-probe for tumor detection and early diagnosis.

Biomater Sci

Accurate imaging of tumor hypoxia is critical for early cancer diagnosis and clinical outcomes, highlighting the great need for its detection specificity and sensitivity. In this report, we propose a probe (HTRNP) that simultaneously has hypoxia-targeting and hypoxia-responsive capabilities to enhance the tumor hypoxia imaging efficiency. HTRNP was successfully prepared through the encapsulation of Pt(II)-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin (PtPFPP), which exhibits hypoxia-dependent phosphorescence, within the amphiphilic block copolymer OPDMA-PF, which has hypoxia-targeting tertiary amine -oxide moieties and hydrophobic perfluorobenzene ring structures, which highly improved the loading content and water solubility of PtPFPP.

The genetic basis of type 1 red-flesh color development in apple () depends upon a particular allele of the gene. Interestingly, type 1 red-flesh apples are fully red after fruit set, but anthocyanin pigmentation in apple fruit cortex may decrease during fruit growth and maturation, leading to variable red patterning and intensities in the mature cortical flesh. We developed a histogram-based color analysis method to quantitatively estimate pigmentation patterns.
