Telomere length (TL) is considered a biomarker of aging, and short TL in leukocytes is related to age and stress-related health problems. Cumulative lifetime stress exposure has also been associated with shorter TL and age-related health problems, but the mechanisms are not well understood. We tested in 108 individuals whether shorter TL in leukocytes is observed in individuals with the GABRA6 TT genotype, which has been associated with dysregulation of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis activity (the main biological stress system) compared to the CC genotype.

Background: Clinical practice is key in the development and enhancement of the professional competencies for Master of Nursing Specialist postgraduates in anesthesia; however, there is a lack of unified and standardized clinical practice training programs in China, failing to guarantee teaching quality among institutions.
Objective: To understand perceptions of the clinical practice training program setting for Master of Nursing Specialist postgraduates in anesthesia from the dual perspectives of faculty and students.
Design: A qualitative descriptive study.
Background: The authors aimed to explore the association of fatty acids with periodontitis and its severity and to assess causality using Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses.
Methods: Data for participants with complete data were extracted from the 2009-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Weighted logistic regression was used to explore the relationship between dietary fatty acids and periodontitis and its severity.

In Nigeria, orchidectomy remains the primary androgen deprivation therapy. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the active prostatic androgen, but its relationship with PCa severity has not been extensively studied in Africa.
