Cancer remains a leading cause of mortality, with aggressive, treatment-resistant tumors posing significant challenges. Current combination therapies and imaging approaches often fail due to disparate pharmacokinetics and difficulties correlating drug delivery with therapeutic response. In this study, we developed radionuclide-activatable theranostic nanoparticles (NPs) comprising folate receptor-targeted bimetallic organo-nanoparticles (Gd-Ti-FA-TA NPs).

Background/objectives: Urinary tract infections (UTI) represent a highly frequent and debilitating disease. Immunoactive prophylaxis, such as the polyvalent bacterial whole-cell-based sublingual vaccine MV140, have been developed to avoid antibiotic use. However, the effectiveness of this tool in the Portuguese population is still unknown.

This study investigates the impact of MnO crystal structures on Mn removal in drinking water for the first time. α-, γ-, and δ-MnO phases were synthesized, showing a removal process involving adsorption (Mn was adsorbed as the state of Mn(OH)), saturation, and catalytic oxidation. The adsorption capacity followed δ- > γ- > α-MnO, aligning with the Mn oxidation state.

The unprecedented success of mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 has inspired scientists to develop mRNA vaccines for cancer immunotherapy. However, using nucleoside modified mRNA as vaccine, though evading innate immune toxicity, diminishes its therapeutic efficacy for cancers. Here, we report a polyvalent stimulator of interferon genes (STING) activating polymer (termed as PD) to bolster the immunogenicity of mRNA vaccine.

Aims: In this study, we report the use of two novel lytic polyvalent phages as a cocktail in in planta assays and their efficacy in the control of bacterial halo blight (BHB) caused by Pseudomonas coronafaciens pv. garcae (Pcg) in coffee plants.
Methods And Results: Phages were isolated from samples of coffee plant leaves collected at two different locations in Brazil.
