Objectives Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) to the lower back is an established electrical therapy for acute and chronic back pain. The efficacy and mechanisms of lower back TENS depend on the penetration depth of electrical current. We compare the intensity and spatial extent (depth) of current flow in the body during TENS with varied electrode positions/shapes on the human back.

Purpose Of The Review: The aim is to provide a comprehensive review of regional anesthesia techniques to control ventricular arrhythmias.
Recent Findings: While promising, the use of stellate ganglion block (SGB) for arrhythmia control is still under investigation, and further clinical trials are warranted to fully understand its efficacy, long-term outcomes, suitable patient group, and safety profile. Nevertheless, it remains a potential adjunctive therapy in the management of ventricular arrhythmias in select patients.

Background: Children receiving general anesthesia while undergoing surgery have a significantly high incidence of emergence delirium (ED). Nonpharmacological interventions yield beneficial effects on preventing pediatric ED. However, the relative effects of nonpharmacological interventions on pediatric ED prevention based on various perioperative phases remain unknown.

Rationale: There are several approaches to select the optimal positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), resulting in different PEEP levels. The impact of different PEEP settings may extend beyond respiratory mechanics, affecting pulmonary hemodynamics.
Objectives: To compare PEEP levels obtained with three titration strategies-(i) highest respiratory system compliance (C), (ii) electrical impedance tomography (EIT) crossing point; (iii) positive end-expiratory transpulmonary pressure (P)-in terms of regional respiratory mechanics and pulmonary hemodynamics.

Thyroid hormones, particularly L-thyroxine, are integral to cognitive processes like learning and memory. However, electrophysiological and morphological evidence connecting thyroid hormone activity to hippocampal function remains limited. This study aims to investigate the electrophysiological, morphological, and behavioral effects of L-thyroxine treatment in thyroidectomized (TX) rats, addressing the complex interplay between thyroid hormone regulation and hippocampal function.
