Background And Aims: Measurement of the urine sodium concentration (USC) is a simple procedure that in many patients adequately indicates their hydration status. This is of particular importance in patients suffering from short bowel syndrome (SBS), who may very rapidly dehydrate and are at risk for permanently compromising their kidney function. A point of care test (POCT) that allows reliable measurement of USC would enable these patients to effectively evaluate their sodium- and water balance in the at home setting, thereby avoiding hospital visits and delayed test results.

This paper introduces RWA-BFT, a reputation-weighted asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus algorithm designed to address the scalability and performance challenges of blockchain systems in large-scale IoT scenarios. Traditional centralized IoT architectures often face issues such as single points of failure and insufficient reliability, while blockchain, with its decentralized and tamper-resistant properties, offers a promising solution. However, existing blockchain consensus mechanisms struggle to meet the high throughput, low latency, and scalability demands of IoT applications.

DRP1 defective function results in altered mitochondrial networks, characterized by elongated/spaghetti-like, highly interconnected mitochondria. Inborn errors of immunity (IEIs), also known as primary immunodeficiencies, are a group of genetic disorders affecting the development and function of the immune system. While IEIs traditionally present with recurrent infections, an increasing number of cases manifest with early-onset severe atopy, including atopic dermatitis, food allergies, asthma, and allergic rhinitis-features that are often overlooked. This can lead to delayed diagnosis and treatment, which is crucial for IEI patients due to the risk of severe infections.
