Little is known about the transferability of this concept to non-Western, low-income settings. Purpose: To describe the characteristics of sick role adaptation and understand the differences in young and middle-aged colorectal cancer (CRC) patients.
Methods: 225 colorectal cancer patients aged 18-59 admitting to a specialized oncology hospital in Guangzhou, China were involved from January to April 2022. Socio-demographic characteristics, disease-related characteristics, scores of Illness Behavior Questionnaire, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale and Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire were applied to collect quantitative data.

Background: Limited standardized empirical research exists in France on the psychosocial implications of albinism, prompting an investigation into how affected persons adapt to their disabilities. Recent advancements in health psychology have led researchers to adopt a systemic approach, considering disabilities and involving close relatives in the adaptation process. The aim of this study was to explore the mediating role of dyadic coping within family dyads, where one is a person with albinism (PWA) and the other is a close relative.

Support for people living with HIV (PLHIV) as they disclose their HIV status can impact continuity of HIV treatment and adherence to antiretrovirals. In the presence of multi-level adversities, resilience among PLHIV can promote health-seeking behaviors and better health outcomes. However, few studies have examined how disclosure experience and resilience work together to impact HIV treatment outcomes among PLHIV.
