Background: Robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) is more precise and flexible than video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treatment. This study compared the early postoperative functional recovery of patients who underwent triportal RATS with that of patients who underwent uniportal video-assisted thoracic surgery (UVATS) for segmentectomy.
Methods: This observational, prospective study included 172 patients with clinical stage I or II peripheral NSCLC who underwent RATS or UVATS segmentectomy.

Despite our subjective experience of a largely symmetric visual world, the human brain exhibits varying patterns and degrees of hemispheric asymmetry in distinct processes of visual cognition. This chapter reviews behavioral and neuroimaging evidence from neurotypical individuals and neurological patients, concerning functional asymmetries between the right hemisphere (RH) and the left hemisphere (LH) in visual object processing and mental imagery. Hierarchical perception shows RH preference for global processing and LH preference for local processing.

Objectives: Extended life expectancy due to treatment improvements has increased the diagnosis of cancer among people living with HIV (PLWH) in Africa. Despite documented impacts of stigma on cancer preventive behaviours and care, little is known about the intersections of cancer and HIV stigma and the effects on prevention and care behaviours for both conditions. This study aims to examine experiences and drivers of cancer stigma and their associations with access to and utilisation of cancer prevention services among PLWH.

Esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) is a highly aggressive malignancy with increasing incidence and poor survival rates, primarily due to late-stage diagnosis. This cancer often develops from Barrett's Esophagus (BE), a precancerous condition linked to chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The transition from BE to EAC is a complex multistep process involving numerous genetic, epigenetic, and molecular changes that lead to the malignant transformation of the esophageal epithelium.
