A 64-year-old woman suffered a traumatic rupture of the inferior rectus muscle, with the distal segment unrecoverable. An inferior oblique muscle transposition, augmented with a posterior fixation suture, was performed. This modification may have contributed to the surgical outcome.

Veterinary intervention in zoological species can be complicated by species-specific social dynamics. African wild dogs are a pack species and removal or separation of an individual may disrupt established pack hierarchy resulting in conspecific aggression. Background: Arterial switch operation (ASO) for dextro-transposition of the great arteries was developed four decades ago, and women with ASO have reached childbearing age.
