Background: Fibrotic types of interstitial lung abnormalities seen on high-resolution computed tomography scans, characterised by traction bronchiolectasis/bronchiectasis with or without honeycombing, are predictors of progression and poor prognostic factors of interstitial lung abnormalities. There are no reports on the clinical characteristics of fibrotic interstitial lung abnormalities on high-resolution computed tomography scans. Therefore, we aimed to examine these clinical characteristics and clarify the predictive factors of fibrotic interstitial lung abnormalities on high-resolution computed tomography scans.

Our patient presented to the emergency room following a motor vehicle accident. The traumatic tricuspid valve rupture was diagnosed by transthoracic echocardiogram, and his respiratory status declined rapidly. He was placed on veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV ECMO) to bridge him to surgical repair.

This study aimed to assess the feasibility and retention rates of pedicled thymic flaps to enhance understanding of bronchial stump coverage. A retrospective analysis of 22 consecutive patients who underwent anatomical lung resection followed by bronchial stump coverage with pedicled thymic flaps between January 2017 and December 2022 was conducted. The procedure was performed using a minimally invasive 3-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery technique for all patients with no complications related to graft harvest or fixation.

To assess respiratory changes after neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NAVA) initiation in preterm infants with evolving or established bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). Premature infants born less than 32 weeks gestation with evolving or established BPD initiated on invasive or non-invasive (NIV) NAVA were included. Respiratory data: PCO and SpO₂/FiO₂ (S/F) ratio before and at 4, 24, 48 h post-NAVA initiation were collected.

Unlabelled: During infection, bacterial pathogens rely on secreted virulence factors to manipulate the host cell. However, in gram-positive bacteria, the molecular mechanisms underlying the folding and activity of these virulence factors after membrane translocation are not clear. Here, we solved the protein structures of two secreted parvulin and two secreted cyclophilin-like peptidyl-prolyl isomerase (PPIase) ATP-independent chaperones found in gram-positive streptococcal species.
