Introduction: Self-protection, also called protective anger or assertive anger, is a key factor in mental health. Thus, far, researchers have focused mainly on the qualitative analysis of self-protection.
Methods: Therefore, we investigated facial action units, emotions, and vocal cues in low and high self-protective groups of participants in order to detect any differences.

Objectives: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic required the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in medical and social contexts to reduce exposure and prevent pathogen transmission. This study aims to analyse possible changes in voice and speech parameters with and without PPE.
Methods: Speech samples using different types of PPE were obtained.

Objective: Despite anecdotal evidence highlighting the benefits of singing teacher involvement in voice rehabilitation for effective and sustainable biopsychosocial treatment of vocal injury, singing teachers working as singing voice rehabilitation specialists (SVRS) in the United Kingdom (UK) have often been criticized for working beyond their scope of practice. With limited empirical research into the role, concern and confusion has fueled challenges to its legitimacy. The lack of regulation raises questions around safeguarding, skills, and demarcation of roles within the multidiscipline team.

The field of voice analysis has experienced significant transformations, evolving from basic perceptual assessments to the incorporation of advanced digital signal processing and computational tools. This progression has facilitated a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of vocal function, particularly through the use of acoustic voice analysis within a multidimensional evaluation framework. Traditionally, voice analysis relied on parameters such as fundamental frequency, jitter, shimmer, and noise-to-harmonic ratio, which, despite their utility, have faced criticism for variability and lack of robustness.
