Chronic Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection is the largest etiological factor for gastric cancer, but in recent years the reports of Hp-naïve gastric neoplasms (HpNGNs) have increased as the Hp-infected population in Japan has been declining. The histopathologic spectrum of HpNGNs differs significantly from that of conventional Hp-infected gastric neoplasms. Molecularly, the former harbor considerably fewer genetic and epigenetic abnormalities, reflecting the absence of chronic inflammatory conditions in the gastric mucosa.

Objectives: This study investigates the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, namely Cerviray AI, compared with Cerviray expert, aiming to compare its sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC ROC). The Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) test is used as the gold standard.

The Aim Of The Review: The specific mechanisms of the main active constituents of glycyrrhiza in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, precancerous lesions and colorectal cancer at all stages of the colitis-associated colon cancer "Inflammation-Dysplasia-Cancer" sequence, as well as its pharmacokinetics, toxicology, formulation improvements, and application studies, are reviewed to provide new insights and perspectives on glycyrrhiza as a dietary supplement to treat and prevent colitis-associated colon cancer.
