Background: Cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury (CSA-AKI) is a notably common complication in pediatrics, with an incidence rate ranging from 15 to 64%. This rate is significantly higher than that observed in adults. Currently, there is a lack of substantial evidence regarding the association between intraoperative blood pressure variability (BPV) during cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and the development of AKI in pediatric patients.

46,XY differences/disorders of sex development (DSD) are genetically heterogeneous conditions characterized by atypical development of the reproductive system. MYRF, a gene encoding a transcription factor, has been identified as a potential causative gene for DSD and cardiac urogenital syndrome (CUGS). This study aims to delineate the clinical manifestations of patients with 46,XY DSD and MYRF mutations, encompassing both from our cohort and cases reported in the literature.

Introduction According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death globally, accounting for approximately 17 million deaths annually, with sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) as a significant contributor to this alarming statistic. SCA, the abrupt loss of heart function, is a critical medical emergency that requires early recognition and immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for the effective resuscitation of victims. Various studies have shown a low level of knowledge regarding CPR in the community.

High cardiac sympathetic drive and release of the sympathetic cotransmitter neuropeptide Y (NPY) are significant features of congestive heart failure (CHF), in which resting venous NPY levels are known to be associated with mortality. However, whether circulating NPY levels increase during exercise in CHF when they are already elevated is controversial. We sought to establish the dynamics of circulating NPY levels in CHF patients treated with contemporary medical therapy and devices in relationship to indices of performance linked to long-term prognosis.

: To compare tracheal temperature (T) with nasopharyngeal temperature (T) in patients undergoing cardiac surgery using cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). : T was measured using a thermistor in the cuff of an endotracheal tube and T was monitored using an esophageal stethoscope. Depending on the management of the CPB strategy, the operation was divided into four periods (pre-CPB, cooling, rewarming, and post-CPB).
