This guidance provides an overview and detailed recommendations for evaluating the biological functionality of these new biomaterials in vitro, focusing on mineralization, immunomodulatory effects, cellular differentiation, and angiogenesis. Additionally, it discusses the use of in vivo experimental models that mimic periodontitis and scrutinizes methods such as osteogenic differentiation, immunomodulation, and anti-inflammatory responses to assess the effectiveness of these biomaterials in promoting periodontal tissue reconstruction.

Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) represent a large group of rare and ultra-rare tumors distinguished by unique morphological, molecular and clinical features. Patients with such rare cancers are generally underrepresented in clinical trials which has limited the introduction of new treatment options and subsequent improvement of patient outcomes. Preclinical models of STS that recapitulate the human disease can aid progress in identifying new effective treatments.

Background: Electronically captured patient reports (electronic patient-reported outcomes, ePROs) are digital questionnaires filled out by cancer patients. Despite indications of improved clinical care, the integration of ePROs into clinical head and neck oncology is uncharted territory.
Objective: This work outlines the implementation process for ePROs at the University Hospital for Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical University of Innsbruck (ENT Innsbruck).
Introduction: With the introduction of increasingly powerful audio equipment and increase of personal mobile audio devices in the 21st century, the prevalence of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) in young adults is expected to increase. This increase, estimated to impact 30 million adults in the next four decades, is due in part to recreational exposure. While many young adults have a general understanding of NIHL, a detailed education on various topics of NIHL could further promote adherence to the use of preventive measures.
