The current pharmacological pretreatment and medical treatment of nerve agent poisoning is an insufficiently addressed medical task. The prophylactic efficacy of a novel compound acting dually as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and NMDA receptor antagonist (K1959) and the therapeutic efficacy of a novel NMDA receptor antagonist (K2060) were evaluated in the NMRI mice model of nerve agent poisoning by tabun, soman and sarin. Their added value to the standard antidotal treatment (a combination of oxime reactivator and atropine) was also analyzed.

NIM-1324 is an oral investigational new drug for autoimmune disease that targets the Lanthionine Synthetase C-like 2 (LANCL2) pathway. Through activation of LANCL2, NIM-1324 modulates CD4+ T cells to bias signaling and cellular metabolism toward increased immunoregulatory function while providing similar support to phagocytes. In primary human immune cells, NIM-1324 reduces type I interferon and inflammatory cytokine (IL-6, IL-8) production.

Super-resolution methods provide far better spatial resolution than the optical diffraction limit of about half the wavelength of light (∼200-300 nm). Nevertheless, they have yet to attain widespread use in plants, largely due to plants' challenging optical properties. Expansion microscopy improves effective resolution by isotropically increasing the physical distances between sample structures while preserving relative spatial arrangements and clearing the sample.

Purpose: To reveal problems of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for diagnosing gastric-type mucin-positive (GMPLs) and gastric-type mucin-negative (GMNLs) cervical lesions.

Methods: We selected 172 patients suspected to have lobular endocervical glandular hyperplasia; their pelvic MR images were categorised into the training (n = 132) and validation (n = 40) groups. The images of the validation group were read twice by three pairs of six readers to reveal the accuracy, area under the curve (AUC), and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC).

Background: While immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapies can significantly improve outcomes for patients with recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (RM-HNSCC), only about 15-20% benefit from such treatments. Clinical tests that guide the use of ICIs are therefore critically needed. OncoPrism-HNSCC was developed to address this need.
