Unlabelled: There are over 533 nucleosome structures in the Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics (RCSB). Collectively, numerous variants and species are present, as are sub-nucleosomal and super-nucleosomal assemblies within the nucleosome family. The organization of the histones and DNA is highly conserved in all standard octasomes containing 145, 146, or 147 base pairs.

Gene context can have significant impact on gene expression but is currently not integrated in quantitative models of gene regulation despite known biophysical principles and quantitative in vitro measurements. Conceptually, the simplest gene context consists of a single gene framed by two topological barriers, known as the twin transcriptional-loop model, which illustrates the interplay between transcription and DNA supercoiling. In vivo, DNA supercoiling is additionally modulated by topoisomerases, whose modus operandi remains to be quantified.

Due to the occurrence of THz-excited vibrational modes in biomacromolecules, the THz frequency range has been identified as particularly suitable for developing and applying new bioanalytical methods. We present a scalable THz metamaterial-based biosensor being utilized for the multifrequency investigation of single- and double-stranded DNA (ssDNA and dsDNA) samples. It is demonstrated that the metamaterial resonance frequency shift by the DNA's presence depends on frequency.

A class of phosphane gold(I) compounds, made of azoles and phosphane ligands, was evaluated for a screening on the regards of Breast Cancer cell panels (BC). The compounds possess N-Au-P or Cl-Au-P bonds around the central metal, and they differ for the presence of aprotic or protic polar groups in the azoles and/or the phosphane moieties to tune their hydrophilicity. Among the six candidates, only the compounds having the P-Au-N environment and not displaying neither the hydroxyl nor carboxyl groups in the ligands were found active.
