Elucidating the pharmaceutical mechanisms behind traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is the key to promote its modernization process. In China, soaking TCM in liquor has a history of thousands of years, and many TCMs have to be processed into liquor before they can be used to treat diseases. Chinese liquor (Baijiu) contains more than 2,000 trace components, the interaction mechanism between TCM and Baijiu still remains unclear, making TCM a "mystery".

Two untargeted metabolomics approaches based on gas chromatography mass spectrometry and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry were used to identify the effects of different feeding regimes (concentrate, corn silage, alfalfa silage, mulberry leaf silage) on the potential meat flavor and taste components of Tan-lamb. Among 31 identified volatiles, hexanal was affected by the alfalfa silage diet, and 3-hydroxydodecanoic acid was changed by the mulberry leaf silage diet. l-Pipecolic acid (area under the curve = 1, fold change = 0.

Ayurveda, the traditional Indian therapeutic system, involves herbs and spices as drug ingredients and a kind of food intake regulation. The health and curative aspects of plant products are often ascribed to their antimicrobial and antioxidant activities (AA). However, it seems somewhat possible to correlate the AA of herbal extracts or plant isolates with their phenolic contents (PC).

Electronic address:

Nitrous acid (HONO) is the major precursor of OH radicals in polluted areas. Accurate measurement of HONO provides vital evidence for exploring the formation of secondary pollution. Stripping coil (SC) equipped with ion chromatograph (IC) or spectrograph as one of wet chemical methods has been already used to measure HONO.

Effluent organic matter (EfOM) is an emerging concern to receiving aquatic environment due to its refractory property. The degradation of EfOM in ozonation and other two advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), UV/HO and UV/persulfate (PS), was investigated in this study. Fluorescence spectra coupled with parallel factor analysis (PARAFAC) and two-dimensional correlation gel permeation chromatography (2D-GPC) were used to track the evolution of EfOM during each oxidation process.
