Background: Remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) has been implicated in cross-organ protection in cerebrovascular disease, including stroke. However, the lack of a consensus protocol and controversy over the clinical therapeutic outcomes of RIC suggest an inadequate mechanistic understanding of RIC. The current study identifies RIC-induced molecular and cellular events in the blood, which enhance long-term functional recovery in experimental cerebral ischemia.

Merging Copper Catalysis with Nitro Allyl and Allyl Sulfone Derivatives: Practical, Straightforward, and Scalable Synthesis of Diversely Functionalized Allyl Boranes.

JACS Au

January 2025

Laboratoire de Synthèse Organique (LSO-UMR 7652) CNRS, Ecole Polytechnique, ENSTA-Paris, Institut Polytechnique de Paris 828 Bd des Maréchaux, 91128 Palaiseau Cedex, France.

We report here the first example of a copper-catalyzed transformation involving nitro allyl derivatives. This borylation reaction, which exploits the high versatility of the aforementioned precursor, tolerates a variety of functional groups and allows practical, scalable, and highly straightforward access to diversely substituted allylboronic esters in high yields. The method was also extended to allyl sulfones, which provides a very complementary approach, offering additional structural diversity along with improved stereoselectivities.

Based on the nonlinear broadband saturation absorption, ultrafast carrier recovery rate, and ultrashort recovery time of new low dimensional materials, ultrafast photonics has rapidly developed as an interdisciplinary field. We have demonstrated multiple solitons state output in an erbium-doped fiber laser based on saturable absorption characteristic of AgInPS. By preparing AgInPS with a modulation depth of 10.

Novel Pt (II) Complexes With Anticancer Activity Against Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Cells.

Bioinorg Chem Appl

December 2024

Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies (DiSTeBA), University of Salento, Lecce, Via Monteroni I-73100, Italy.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly aggressive type of solid tumor that is becoming more common. -[PtCl (NH)] (in short cisplatin or CDDP) has been shown to be effective in treating various cancers, including PDAC. However, the development of resistance to chemotherapy drugs has created a need for the synthesis of new anticancer agents.

Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death worldwide. The differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) into functional cardiomyocytes offers significant potential for disease modeling and cell-based cardiac therapies. However, hPSC-derived cardiomyocytes (hPSC-CMs) remain largely immature, limiting their experimental and clinical applications.
