Gastrointestinal (GI) involvement in Lewy body diseases (LBDs) has been observed since the initial descriptions of patients by James Parkinson. Recent experimental and human observational studies raise the possibility that pathogenic alpha-synuclein (⍺-syn) might develop in the GI tract and subsequently spread to susceptible brain regions. The cellular and mechanistic origins of ⍺-syn propagation in disease are under intense investigation.

Background: Breastfeeding is the cornerstone of a newborn's nutrition, containing crucial nutritional components. While a substantial body of research focuses on mothers, there is limited understanding regarding effective strategies to engage fathers in promoting breastfeeding practices. Therefore, this quasi-experimental study investigated a community-based intervention to improve breastfeeding exclusivity and initiation rates by targeting fathers in breastfeeding education.

Kidney diseases are widespread and represent a considerable medical, social and economic burden. However, there has been marked progress in understanding the immunological aspects of kidney disease. This includes the identification of distinct intrarenal immunological niches and characterization of kidney disease endotypes according to the underlying molecular immunopathology, as well as a better understanding of the pathological roles for T cells, mononuclear phagocytes and B cells and the renal elements they target.

This study employs mechanically synthesized nano-scrap carbon iron filings (nSCIF) as a cost-effective and sustainable catalyst in heterogeneous electro-Fenton process. The catalytic behaviour of nSCIF was studied for the oxidation of cytarabine (CBN) under the influence of various experimental parameters such as pH, catalyst dose and applied current density. The highest removal efficiency (~ 99%) was achieved in 90 min of reaction at pH 3, 0.

Microporous metal-organic frameworks (MOF) exhibit excellent carbon dioxide (CO) adsorption performance and selectivity for CO/N separation. However, the challenges associate with the recycling and reuse of MOF powders hinder their practical applications. To address these limitations, a flexible and stable MOF-based composite material was designed by immobilizing UiO-66(Zr)-(OH) onto cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) aerogels (MOF-CNFs), which featured high porosity.
