Background: The endoscopic combined transseptal-transnasal technique for pituitary adenoma excision is notable for enhanced postoperative functional outcomes. Our study compared the incidence of anterior nasal septal perforation and the resulting sinonasal complications between this method and the bilateral transnasal approach.
Methods: Using a retrospective cohort from a pre-eminent tertiary referral center, we analyzed 141 cases of endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery performed between March 2018 and May 2023.

Airbag induced injuries such as skull and cervical spine fractures, epidural and subdural hematomas, atlantooccipital dislocations or brainstem lacerations are already documented in published literature, however, no previous case have been published about a penetrating foreign body of the skull base following airbag deployment. Removal of an intracranial foreign body is very dangerous and difficult, or even if it possible and necessary, requires open surgery in most of the cases. In this article we present the minimal invasive, transnasal removal of a coin from the intracranial, frontobasal region using high-resolution endoscopy combined with image-guided navigation.

Purpose: Endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal approach (Endonasal approach) is commonly used to treat pituitary adenomas. The extent of dissection possibly changes the anatomy and the physiology of the nasal cavities and could give rise to post-operative morbidity and the quality of life (QoL). The purpose of this study was to investigate sinonasal morbidity and general QoL in patients who underwent surgery for treatment of pituitary adenoma, comparing Endonasal and endoscopic trans-septal transsphenoidal approach (Trans-septal approach).

Objective: Transsphenoidal pituitary surgery is commonly performed via a direct transostial approach with a posterior septectomy. However, a technique via an endoscopic transseptal route has been described that avoids a posterior septectomy, but it comes with its own disadvantages.
Methods: This paper describes a modification, and discusses its pros and cons.
