Primary testicular diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PT-DLBCL) is a rare and aggressive lymphoma with molecular heterogeneity not well characterize. In this study, we performed next-generation sequencing analysis for a large number of DNA and RNA samples from patients with PT-DLBCL. DNA sequencing analysis identified ≥ 3 chromosomes with copy number variations (CNVs) and microsatellite instability as prognostic biomarkers, rather than mutations and genetic subtypes.

Testicular follicular lymphoma (TFL) is an exceedingly rare lymphoma that typically occurs in young male patients and is now recognized as a distinct diagnostic entity in the International Consensus Classification. TFL shows some clinicopathologic and genetic overlap with pediatric-type follicular lymphoma (PTFL). We report a case of TFL occurring in an otherwise healthy 4-year-old boy who presented with painless scrotal swelling.

Background/objectives: Improved survival due to advances in medical therapy has resulted in increasing numbers of cancer patients living with bone metastases; however, our understanding of the prognostic implications of bone metastases requires larger population-based studies outlining their incidence and prevalence in different primary cancer types, including those with lower incidence. This study aimed to evaluate the incidence and prevalence of bone metastases in solid organ tumors by analyzing reports of staging CT studies with natural language processing (NLP).

Methods: In this retrospective study, 639,470 reports representing 129,326 unique patients were analyzed; 6279 randomly selected reports were manually annotated and labeled for the presence or absence of bone metastases.

Insights from the single-cell level: lineage trajectory and somatic-germline interactions during spermatogenesis in dwarf surfclam Mulinia lateralis.

BMC Genomics

January 2025

MOE Key Laboratory of Marine Genetics and Breeding, Laboratory for Marine Biology and Biotechnology (Qingdao Marine Science and Technology Center), Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China.

Background: Spermatogenesis is a complex process of cellular differentiation that commences with the division of spermatogonia stem cells, ultimately resulting in the production of functional spermatozoa. However, a substantial gap remains in our understanding of the molecular mechanisms and key driver genes that underpin this process, particularly in invertebrates. The dwarf surfclam (Mulinia lateralis) is considered an optimal bivalve model due to its relatively short generation time and ease of breeding in laboratory settings.

A determination of the main regulators of necroptosis in testicular tissue under different heat stresses.

J Mol Histol

January 2025

Department of Histology and Embryology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Sivas, Türkiye.

Although minimal increases in testicular temperature can compromise spermatogenesis and lead to fertility-related problems, the basic mechanism involved in germ cell destruction as a response to heat stress is still unclear. However, necroptosis is known to regulate a number of physiological and pathological events. This study investigated the role of RIPK1/RIPK3 and MLKL, the main regulators of necroptosis, against different heat stresses in testis tissue.
