Under certain conditions, it is possible to record His bundle potentials from thoracic surface electrodes. These potentials, which are extremely weak on the chest wall, must be extracted from the "background noise" using an averaging method. The required signal being situated before the R wave, and at a constant distance from the latter, the potentials collected from the thoracic electrodes are amplified, numerised and despatched to a memory which retains only the values preceeding the R wave and produces a summation of successive cycles, causing them to coincide using a synchronisation signal. This is achieved with the aid of a correlator. Amongst 66 patients studied, a signal which most likely corresponded to His bundle activity was obtained in 1/3 of cases. Correlation obtained in 7 cases by the use of invasive techniques indicated that the principal source of error was the "after potential" of the P wave when the PR interval is short. This was seen in one case, correlation in the other 6 being good. The method will require further work before being available for clinical use, where its primary indication would seem to be the study of long PR intervals.

Understanding the mechanics linking cortical folding and brain connectivity is crucial for both healthy and abnormal brain development. Despite the importance of this relationship, existing models fail to explain how growing axon bundles navigate the stress field within a folding brain or how this bidirectional and dynamic interaction shapes the resulting surface morphologies and connectivity patterns. Here, we propose the concept of "axon reorientation" and formulate a mechanical model to uncover the dynamic multiscale mechanics of the linkages between cortical folding and connectivity development.

Aims: This retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate the efficacy of dual-chamber left Bundle branch pacing (LBBP) as an alternative therapy for heart failure patients with complete left bundle branch block (CLBBB) and indications for defibrillator with cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT-D).
Methods: 34 patients met inclusion criteria were enrolled in the study. These criteria included a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of lower than 35%, a New York Heart Association functional class of II-IV, CLBBB meeting Strauss's criteria, intraventricular dyssynchrony, and confirmed correction of CLBBB during LBBP.

Due to a lack of anatomical studies utilizing female specimens, it is unclear how the nociceptive innervation of the mouse heart compares between sexes. To address this, flat-mount preparations of the left and right atria of male and female mice were immunohistochemically labeled for calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP, a common marker for nociceptive nerves), imaged, and digitally traced in high quality. The results show that 1) A network of CGRP-IR axons densely innervated the right and left atria.
