Introduction: The use of periarticular multimodal analgesia injections is increasing and has become commonplace in some surgeries. However, there is no data on the effectiveness of local periarticular multimodal analgesia for tibial plateau fractures. We hypothesized that closed tibial plateau fracture patients receiving the local multimodal analgesic medications would experience a decrease in VAS pain scores.

Unlike Dickens's novel, this is not a tale of light and darkness, order and chaos, good and evil…It is, though, a story worth to be told about two standpoints about games and sports, teaching and research, physical education simply put, that have pursued similar interests on parallel tracks for too long, despite their apparent closeness and shared cultural grounds. Introduction: These guidelines deal with the parturient wellbeing in terms of hydration and regional and systemic pain management during labour.
Method: Guidelines were established based on literature analysis and experts consensus.
Results: Clear liquids consumption is permitted all along labor and postpartum, without volume limitation, in patients at low risk of general anesthesia (grade B).

To encapsulate and deliver poorly water-soluble drugs, castor oil/silica hybrid microparticles (HMP)s were synthesized. Green chemistries were used to silylate the oil and further cross-link it into solid microparticles by sol-gel reaction. Silylated castor oils (ICO)s at various silylation ratios were prepared and allowed the solubilization of ibuprofen at several concentrations up to 16 wt%.

COMPLEMENTARY APPROACHES: To treat metastatic renal cell carcinoma, therapies used are with an oral intake, for the vast majority, and have many side effects that may compromise observance. Strategies of drug holiday have been studied and, in case of an indolent and oligometastatic tumor, studies have shown that active surveillance is possible to delay the introduction of systemic treatment, without compromising the patient survival. A multimodal approach combining systemic and focal treatments can be done with several objectives: to delay even more introduction of systemic treatment by focally treating metastases, to allow drug holiday after partial response to medical treatment by local control of persistent metastases, and to permit drug continuation even in case of dissociated response to systemic therapy, by focal treatment of metastasis(es) in progression.
