Objectives: Obesity is considered a significant risk factor for diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease, and metabolic diseases, increasing considerably the risk for surgery. We have treated with ESWL a significant number of patients with the aim of avoiding operations which could be long and have associated complications due to the patient's condition.
Methods: From April 2000 to May 2002 we treated 150 obese patients with kidney and/or ureteral stones using a Nova Ultima lithotripter.
Testicular torsion in adult, is an uncommonly etiology, but we should make differencial diagnosis in every person over thirty years old, with acute scrotum. The wrong diagnosis raises the incidence orchiectomy in adults for vascular etiology. We report a male of 74 years old with acute scrotum and review of the literature.

Objective: To report a case of ureteroplasty using the vermiform appendix.
Methods: Herein we describe a patient who underwent partial resection of the ureter due to a neoplasm. The ureteral defect was repaired using the vermiform appendix.

The diseases ectopic kidney is a rare malformation. It can be associated with other urological or nonurological malformation. We report 11 cases observed between 1980 and 1998.
