Introduction: Corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH)-stimulated bilateral inferior petrosal sinus sampling (BIPSS) is the most accurate procedure in the differential diagnosis of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)-dependent Cushing's syndrome (CS) with a sensitivity of 88-100% and a specificity of 67-100%. However, CRH is not available globally currently. We undertook this study of BIPSS using lysine vasopressin (LVP) as an agent to stimulate the release of ACTH from corticotrophs.

Objective: This study aims to analyze the adverse drug events (ADEs) associated with tolvaptan in the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System database from the fourth quarter of 2009 to the second quarter of 2024.
Methods: After standardizing the data, various signal detection techniques, including Reporting Odds Ratio (ROR), Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR), Bayesian Confidence Propagation Neural Network, and Multi-Item Gamma Poisson Shrinker, were employed for analysis.
Results: Among the 7,486 ADE reports where tolvaptan was the primary suspected drug, a total of 196 preferred terms were identified, spanning 24 different system organ classes.

Background: SARS-CoV-2 virus which targets the lung vasculature is supposed to affect both pulmonary and bronchial arteries. This study evaluated the tracheobronchial vascularization density observed with narrow band imaging (NBI) in patients hospitalized for COVID-19 pneumonia. To determine if the observed changes were specific of COVID-19 patients, the procedure was also performed in non-COVID-19 patients.
