Pharmaceuticals in freshwater posed ecological risks to aquatic ecosystem, however, most risk assessments of pharmaceuticals were conducted at screening level, which were limited by the availability of the toxicity data. In this study, risks of 80 pharmaceuticals including 35 antibiotics, 13 antiviral drugs, 13 illicit drugs, and 19 antidepressants in surface water of Beijing were assessed with a proposed multilevel environmental risk optimization strategy. In this study, chloroquine resinates were prepared at a 1:1 (w:w) drug-to-resin ratio using the batch method with polacrilex (PC), sodium polystyrene sulfonate (SPS), and polacrilin potassium (PP) ion exchange resins (IER). The influence of drug/resin ratio and pH of the medium on drug loading efficiency was explored. UV-VIS spectrophotometric analysis showed that SPS resin had high loading efficiency for chloroquine diphosphate (CLP), above 89%, regardless of the pH.

Metastasis is one of the main reasons for the high mortality associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and autophagy regulates the metastatic migration of tumor cells, their invasion of tissues, and their formation of focal adhesions. Inhibiting autophagy may suppress tumor growth and metastasis, but the abundant extracellular matrix hinders the deep penetration of therapeutic agents. To enhance the penetration of drugs that can inhibit metastasis of pancreatic cancer, a pH-responsive drug delivery system was formulated.
