The detection of residual nuclei in decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM) biomaterials is critical for ensuring their quality and biocompatibility. However, current evaluation methods have limitations in addressing impurity interference and providing intelligent analysis. In this study, we utilized four staining techniques-hematoxylin-eosin staining, acetocarmine staining, the Feulgen reaction and 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole staining-to detect residual nuclei in dECM biomaterials.

Aim: To evaluate the correlation between semi-quantitative analyses and visual scores of pulmonary perfusion Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT)/ Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and pulmonary function test parameters (PFTs) in patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILDs).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 35 patients with ILDs from China-Japan Friendship Hospital between January 2020 and December 2022. All patients underwent pulmonary perfusion SPECT/CT imaging and a pulmonary function test.

Background: I-MIBG scintigraphy plays a significant role in diagnosing Parkinson's disease (PD), with most studies primarily targeting cardiac uptake and relying on traditional ratio-based parameters for assessment. However, due to variations in scanning conditions and image processing methodologies, the clinical utility of different parameters remains a subject of debate. This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of multi-parameter I-3-Iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) scintigraphy and to identify the most reliable metrics for distinguishing PD from Parkinson-plus syndromes.

The purpose of this study was to examine the deposition of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and their receptors, RAGE, in ovarian follicles during folliculogenesis in mice fed high (H-AGE) or low (L-AGE) AGE diets and following superovulation with gonadotropins. We hypothesize that H-AGE diet is associated with increased AGE deposition and RAGE expression in various stages of ovarian follicular development, and superovulation with gonadotropins may alter these changes. C57BL/6J mice were fed low L-AGE (n = 10) or H-AGE (n = 10) diet for 12 weeks.

The role of surfactant proteins A and D (SP-A and SP-D) in lung clearance and translocation to secondary organs of inhaled nanoparticles was investigated by exposing SP-A and SP-D knockout (AKO and DKO) and wild type (WT) mice nose-only for 3 hours to an aerosol of 20 nm gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Animals were euthanised at 0-, 1-, 7- and 28-days post-exposure. Analysis by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) of the liver and kidneys showed that extrapulmonary translocation was below the limits of detection.
