Purpose: The primary objective of this study was to investigate the possible role and assess the potential relationship of speculum use during phacoemulsification surgery in the occurrence of blepharoptosis.
Methods: Our study is a prospective observational design to analyze patients who underwent phacoemulsification surgery under topical anesthesia between October 2017 and May 2018 at a tertiary eye hospital in South India. All patients had their Margin Reflex Distance 1 (MRD1), levator palpebrae superioris (LPS) function, and lid crease distance (LCD) measured before and after surgery on day one, one month, three months, and six months to evaluate the extent of ptosis at each time point that was recorded clinically and photographic documentation for accurate evaluation.

Purpose: We aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using a novel device, the Smart Eye Camera (SEC), for assessing tear meniscus height (TMH) after fluorescein staining and the agreement of the results with measurements obtained using standard slit lamp examination.
Methods: TMH was assessed using both SEC and conventional slit lamp examination. The images were analyzed using the software ImageJ 1.

Purpose: We report an unusual case of severe proptosis during phacoemulsification in a 58-year-old female with a history of Crohn's disease, bilateral chronic panuveitis, prior bilateral central retinal vein occlusion, and uncontrolled steroid-associated ocular hypertension requiring bilateral Ahmed glaucoma drainage device (GDD) implantation with pars plana tube placement.
Observations: During phacoemulsification of the right eye, the patient developed significant proptosis. Following lid speculum removal and mechanical eyelid manipulation, the proptosis resolved within 20 minutes without requiring a lateral canthotomy.

Purpose: To better understand the sensory impact of retinal exam components typically experienced by infants undergoing various retinopathy of prematurity staging examinations, adults concerned for infant welfare and exam quality underwent similar exams to compare their perceived stress.
Patients And Methods: Adults directly involved with ROP exams and infant stress reduction had cardiac monitoring and concomitant ordinal self symptom-score (1-10 Likert) during 15 components of the exam including lid speculum, various scleral depressors, indirect ophthalmoscopy, goniolens and direct ophthalmoscopy and retinal photography (Phoenix ICON) with or without topical anesthesia.
Results: Nine adults provided impressions and cardiac rhythm gathered supine over 15 minutes.

Background: The clinical outcomes of open-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) for medial knee osteoarthritis primarily depend on the corrective precision. The present study aimed to determine the efficacy and feasibility of laser correction technology with an ordinary laser pen and surgical instrument box.
Methods: This prospective and randomized trial included 71 patients randomly divided into laser (n = 36) and traditional groups (n = 35).
