Objective: To investigate the effect of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α expression (Exp) and HIF-1 transcription in breast cancer (BC) cells.

Methods: Human BC cell line T47D was utilized as the research object. Western blot and dual-luciferase system were utilized to detect HIF-1α Exp induced by bFGF in BC cells under hypoxia and normal oxygen conditions, as well as the Exp of phosphorylated ERK1/2, Akt, and p38 proteins, HIF-1α Exp induced by bFGF under kinase inhibitors' action, and HIF-1 transcription, thereby summarizing the impact of bFGF on BC cells and its association with PI-3 K Akt signaling pathway (SPW).

Background: Targeting exportin1 (XPO1) with Selinexor (SEL) is a promising therapeutic strategy for patients with multiple myeloma (MM). However, intrinsic and acquired drug resistance constitute great challenges. SEL has been reported to promote the degradation of XPO1 protein in tumor cells.

Introduction: Hypoxia, a condition characterized by inadequate oxygen supply to tissues, triggers various cellular responses, including apoptosis. The RNA demethylase FTO has been shown to exert anti-apoptotic effects, but its functions independent of RNA demethylase-particularly those involving protein-protein interactions-during hypoxia remain unclear.

Objectives: This study aimed to elucidate the cytoprotective mechanism of FTO in preventing apoptosis under hypoxic stress.

Reduction of glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1), even deletion, may results in cartilage fibrosis and osteoarthritis. This study aims to investigate the SUMOylation of GLUT1 in osteoarthritis through small ubiquitin-like modifier 1(SUMO1), and explore the role of SUMOylated GLUT1 in glycometabolism, proliferation and apoptosis in chondrocytes. Human chondrocytes were incubated with 10 ng/mL of IL-1β to mimic osteoarthritis in vitro.

is a protozoan, and the etiologic agent of toxoplasmosis, a disease that causes high mortality in immunocompromised individuals and newborns. Despite the medical importance of toxoplasmosis, few drugs, which are associated with side effects and parasite resistance, are available for its treatment. Here, we show a screening of molecules present in COVID-Box to discover new hits with anti- activity.
