Ganglion cysts are benign soft tissue tumors that commonly occur in the joints, especially the wrist. Surgical excision and steroid injection are the two main treatment options; however, their efficacy remains unclear. This prospective interventional control trial included 54 patients with ganglion cysts treated between March 2023 and March 2024 at Saveetha Medical College Hospital, Chennai.

Wrist ganglion cysts typically do not show noticeable symptoms but can affect aesthetics and even compress adjacent blood vessels and nerves. Compression therapy can eliminate cysts. However, caution is needed when treating cysts around the radial artery.

Ganglion cysts are commonly found in areas of constant mechanical stress such as the joints and tendons of the wrist or hand as well as the anterior aspect of the ankle. In the knee, parameniscal cysts are often encountered secondary to meniscal tears or articular degeneration. Intra-articular ganglion cysts are uncommon and often arise from the cruciate ligaments and are found in the intercondylar notch.

Synovial sarcoma is a rare malignant mesenchymal neoplasm primarily affecting adolescents and young adults, and it typically arises from deep soft tissues near large joints. Although commonly found in extremities, it can occur in various anatomic locations. We present a rare case of a 29-year-old man with primary pulmonary synovial sarcoma manifesting as a cystic mass masquerading as a lung hydatid cyst.

A desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) presented in a 13-year-old female with an acute abdomen due to torsion of a fallopian tube cyst. She was found to have an incidental 2 cm pedunculated, solid, and multicystic mass attached to the pelvic floor on laparoscopy. The neoplasm had a variably myxoid and spindle cell pattern with nests and cords of small cells, forming pseudocysts, and true cysts lined by ciliated epithelium which were PAX-8+ and ER+/PR+.
