Recent advancements in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) targeting trophoblast surface cell antigen 2 (Trop-2) have brought important progress in the field of targeted therapy. This progress also holds promise for the treatment of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) as anti-Trop-2 therapy appears to have a safe and effective clinical activity in metastatic SCLC patients. However, effective treatments of anti-Trop-2 ADCs rely on the comprehensive assessment of Trop-2 expression at the tumor sites, SCLC exhibits intratumoral heterogeneity, making the accurate acquisition of histological biopsies a challenge.

Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) refers to malignant diseases originating from placental trophoblast cells. Despite high complete remission rates with standard treatments, the adverse effects of chemotherapy, variation in treatment regimens, and the psychological impact on patients significantly influence the prognosis. This study aims to identify factors influencing the time to serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) negativization, thereby contributing to the optimization of patient management strategies.

Introduction: Trophoblast has been reported in the lungs of gestating eutherian mammals with hemochorial placenta, including humans, cotton rats, and American hares. This study describes the discovery of trophoblastic-like cells in the lungs of Lagostomus maximus.
Methods: Lung and placenta samples from non-pregnant and pregnant plains viscachas were analyzed using histology and immunohistochemistry.

Nonthrombotic pulmonary embolism is defined as the partial or total occlusion of the pulmonary circulation by various nonthrombotic agents, such as biological, nonbiological and foreign body material. A case is reported of lethal embolism of fragments of a renal calculus: A 64-year-old woman collapsed and died following laser lithotripsy. At autopsy calculous debris was found in the calyces of the right kidney with widespread microscopic fragments of birefringent foreign material in keeping with renal calculus within the pulmonary arterioles.
