Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) causes symptoms similar to a mild cold for adults, but in case of infants, it causes bronchitis and/or pneumonia, and in some cases, mortality. Mucosal immunity within the respiratory tract includes tissue-resident memory T (T) cells and tissue-resident memory B (B) cells, which provides rapid and efficient protection against RSV re-infection. Therefore, vaccine strategies should aim to generate mucosal immune responses.

Background: Meglumine antimoniate is used to treat canine leishmaniosis. In humans, it has been associated with pancreatitis. Although a few case reports have described acute pancreatitis secondary to antimonial treatment in dogs, some studies have concluded that pancreatitis is not an adverse effect of this medication.

The current standard treatment for canine leishmaniosis (CanL), N-methylglucamine antimoniate (MGA) given with allopurinol, is not fully effective and may cause adverse effects and drug resistance. In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that nucleotides, administered alone or with AHCC, offer benefits in the treatment of CanL. This study examines the effects of a new immunomodulatory treatment protocol in which dietary nucleotides and AHCC are added to the recommended standard treatment.

Numerous members of the family Picornaviridae, such as the Senecavirus A (SVA) and foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV), exhibit thermal instability, resulting in the dissociation of viral particles, which affects the insufficient potency of the vaccine. Based on this characteristic, this study aimed to maintain the thermal stability of SVA by supplementing it with a stabilizer. Excipients, such as sucrose, mannitol, sorbitol, polyethylene glycol (PEG), L-arginine (L-Arg), glutamic acid (Glu), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), bovine serum albumin (BSA), and potassium chloride (KCl) dissolved in Tris-HCl buffer solution, retained the infectivity of SVA in the thermostability assay.
