Fundamental axioms of elective nodal irradiation (ENI) for head and neck cancers merit re-examination in contemporary practice. Standard ENI doses to volumes bordering critical organs-at-risk increased during the transition from two-dimensional radiation planning to intensity-modulated radiotherapy, despite improvements in detection of occult nodal metastases with modern imaging, use of concurrent chemotherapy, and identification of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related radiosensitivity. Historical large ENI volumes covering low-risk nodal regions continue to be commonly used even as awareness grows regarding the predominant pattern-of-failure within existing gross disease.

Objective: Salivary gland neoplasms are rare in pediatric and adolescent populations. Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common malignant neoplasm of the salivary glands that most frequently arises in the parotid gland as a painless swelling. Herein we present a rare case of MEC in a child with metastasis to the cervical lymph node as primary presentation.

Background: Skip metastasis of lateral cervical lymph nodes not uncommonly occurs in early papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), which represents a heterogeneous metastasis type. Currently, few studies report on the relationship between skip metastasis and prognosis or propose treatment recommendations.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with unilateral T1-stage PTC who underwent lobectomy between 2007 and 2015.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of lymph node metastases (LNM) detected on cervical I single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) after the first radioiodine therapy (RAI) on complete response (CR) and progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC).
Methods: This retrospective study included 942 DTC patients who underwent cervical I SPECT/CT after their first RAI. LNM were categorized based on CT (enlarged ≥ 1 cm, small < 1 cm) and I uptake.
