We report the complete genome assembly of a hydroquinonesulfonate-assimilating bacterium, strain HQS1. This strain contains one circular chromosome (6,979,964 bp) and one circular plasmid (39,999 bp). The chromosomal sequence contained 6,359 coding sequences and a gene cluster involved in the degradation of gentisate, which is structurally similar to hydroquinonesulfonate.

Rubisco, the most prevalent protein on Earth, catalysers both a reaction that initiates C carbon fixation, and a reaction that initiates photorespiration, which stimulates protein synthesis. Regulation of the balance between these reactions under atmospheric CO fluctuations remains poorly understood. We have hypothesised that vascular plants maintain organic carbon-to-nitrogen homoeostasis by adjusting the relative activities of magnesium and manganese in chloroplasts to balance carbon fixation and nitrate assimilation rates.

Purpose: To evaluate the current communication skills of resident physicians and identify areas for improvement.
Study Design: Using a cross-sectional design, data from medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty were assimilated at one of the largest academic medical centers in a low-and-middle-income country via a self-administered, validated survey with a 5-point LIKERT scale. One-way ANOVA was used to compare intra-group means, followed by the Bonferroni test, with a p-value <0.

Although research including biological concepts and variables has gained more prominence in sociology, progress assimilating the organ of experience, the brain, has been theoretically and technically challenging. Formal uptake and assimilation have thus been slow. Within psychology and neuroscience, the traditional brain, which has made brief appearances in sociological research, is a "bottom-up" processor in which sensory signals are passed up the neural hierarchy where they are eventually cognitively and emotionally processed, after which actions and responses are generated.
