Background: The oscillometrically measured ankle-brachial index (omABI), which is determined by the ratio of ankle to brachial systolic blood pressure measured through oscillography, has been demonstrated as a robust predictor of cardiovascular events. However, the reliability of mean arterial pressure measured by oscillography may be higher than that of systolic blood pressure based on the principle of oscillographic oscillation. We aimed to compare the predictive value of oscillometrically measured ankle-tobrachial mean arterial pressure ratio (omMAPR) and omABI for cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality.

Many oil and gas fields, especially non-conventional shale and compacted sand reservoirs, have formation anisotropy. The acoustic anisotropy measurement of cores in these reservoirs can guide drilling, well logging, and exploitation. However, almost all core holders are designed for cylinder cores, which are not suitable for all-directional measurements.

Optical Fiber Vibration Signal Identification Method Based on Improved YOLOv4.

Sensors (Basel)

November 2022

Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Signal Detection and Processing, School of Information Science and Engineering, Xinjiang University, Urumqi 830017, China.

In the traditional peripheral-security-early-warning system, the endpoint detection and pattern recognition of the signals generated by the distributed optical fiber vibration sensors is completed step-by-step and in an orderly manner. The method by which these two processes may be placed end-to-end in a network model and processed simultaneously to improve work efficiency has increasingly become the focus of research. In this paper, the target detection algorithm combines the endpoint-detection and pattern-recognition processes of the vibration signal, which can not only quickly locate the start and end vibration positions of the signal but also accurately identify a certain type of signal.

Blood pressure measurement in the elderly with atrial fibrillation: an observational study comparing different noninvasive sphygmomanometers.

Ther Adv Chronic Dis

November 2022

Department of Cardiology, Shunde Hospital, Southern Medical University, Jiazi Road 1, Lunjiao Town, Shunde District, Foshan, Guangdong 523808, China.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) has affected millions of adults in the world. It is important to monitor and manage blood pressure (BP) in AF patients. The accuracy of BP monitoring in AF patients with noninvasive methods remains questionable, however.

Blood pressure monitoring techniques in the natural state of multi-scenes: A review.

Front Med (Lausanne)

August 2022

College of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.

Blood pressure is one of the basic physiological parameters of human physiology. Frequent and repeated measurement of blood pressure along with recording of environmental or other physiological parameters when measuring blood pressure may reveal important cardiovascular risk factors that can predict occurrence of cardiovascular events. Currently, wearable non-invasive blood pressure measurement technology has attracted much research attention.
