Background: Noninvasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD) has been proven feasible for non-syndromic hearing loss (NSHL) in singleton pregnancies. However, previous research is limited to the second trimester and the application in twin pregnancies is blank. Here we provide a novel algorithmic approach to assess singleton and twin pregnancies in the first trimester.

The South American Transcontinental Drainage Divide (TDD) is roughly oriented NE-SW from its Atlantic termination in SE Brazil to its NW termination in the limits between the southwestern edges of the Amazon Craton and the Andean Foreland. Based on a weak spatial coincidence with 90 - 70 Ma igneous intrusions, the origin and stability of the TDD have been attributed to intraplate magmatic activity. Using geomorphic analysis of drainage divides, we infer an overall southward migration of the TDD, even in areas with constrained uplift associated with intrusions.

Timing calibration is essential for positron emission tomography (PET) system as it enhances timing resolution to improve image quality. Traditionally, positron sources are employed for timing calibration. However, the photons emitted by these sources travel in opposite directions, necessitating that positrons annihilate at multiple locations to collect coincidence data across a greater number of lines of response.

Larvae of the flesh fly, Sarcophaga similis exhibit photoperiodic responses to control pupal diapause. Although the external coincidence model is applicable to S. similis photoperiodism, it remains unknown how the circadian clock system integrates day-length information.

Exiting a germinal zone (GZ) initiates a cascade of events that promote neuronal maturation and circuit assembly. Developing neurons and their progenitors must interpret various niche signals-such as morphogens, guidance molecules, extracellular matrix components, and adhesive cues-to navigate this region. How differentiating neurons in mouse brains integrate and adapt to multiple cell-extrinsic niche cues with their cell-intrinsic machinery in exiting a GZ is unknown.
