Background: Traditional childhood uvulectomy (TCU) is an unregulated cultural practice associated with significant health risks, including infections, anemia, aspiration, and oral or pharyngeal injuries. The reuse of unsafe tools such as blades, needles, or thread loops exacerbates the spread of infectious diseases like HIV and hepatitis B. Despite its clinical significance, the pooled prevalence and associated factors of TCU have not been adequately examined through systematic reviews or meta-analyses.

Objective: Aim: To determine the influence of maternal and neonatal variants of the eNOS (G894T, rs1799983) and IL1B (C3953T, rs1143634) genes and their intergenic interactions on the development of HIE in newborns.
Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: The study included a cohort of 105 newborns and their 99 mothers. Determination of variants of the genes eNOS (G894T, rs1799983) and IL1B (C3953T, rs1143634) was carried out for the patients of study groups.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of children watching a video about their upcoming procedure on reducing anxiety and fear before endoscopy. This randomized controlled trial included 46 children aged between 6 and 12 years who underwent endoscopy in the pediatric gastroenterology unit of a hospital in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. Children were randomly assigned to the experimental group or the control group.
