JUIM01 is an industrial 2-keto-d-gluconate (2KGA)-producing strain. However, its regulation mechanism of 2KGA metabolism remains to be clarified. Among other reported species, the 2-ketogluconate utilization operon ( operon) plays key roles in 2KGA catabolism.

Species of the genus Blautia are not only abundant in the human gut but also contribute to human well-being. Our study demonstrates that the gut acetogen Blautia schinkii can grow on myo-inositol. We identified the pathway of myo-inositol degradation through a combination of physiological and biochemical studies, genome-wide expression profiling and homology searches.

Identifying genomic markers for phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) is vital for advancing agricultural sustainability. This study utilizes whole-genome sequencing and comprehensive bioinformatics analysis, examining the genomes of 76 PSB strains with the aid of specialized genomic databases and analytical tools. We have identified the pqq gene cluster, particularly the pqqC gene, as a key marker for (P) solubilization capabilities.
