Background: Hyperglycemia is a major contributor to endothelial dysfunction and blood vessel damage, leading to severe diabetic microvascular complications. Despite the growing body of research on the underlying mechanisms of endothelial cell (EC) dysfunction, the available drugs based on current knowledge fall short of effectively alleviating these complications. Therefore, our endeavor to explore novel insights into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction is crucial for the field.

While existing research primarily focuses on term neonates, less is known about preterm neonates. This study aims to explore the risks of adverse maternal and neonatal perinatal outcomes associated with LGA in term neonates and neonates with different degrees of prematurity, compared to appropriate-for-gestational-age (AGA) neonates.

The prognosis for patients diagnosed at advanced stages is unfavorable, primarily attributable to the absence of reliable screening markers for early detection. An elevated neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) serves as an indicator of host inflammatory response and has been linked to poorer overall survival (OS) across various cancer types; however, its examination in OC remains limited.
