Necrotizing and non-necrotizing epithelioid granulomatous chronic inflammation is the usual recognizable histopathologic presentation of mycobacterial infections. In immunosuppressed patients, atypical histomorphologic patterns may occur. Rare and diagnostically challenging manifestations of nontubercular mycobacterial infections in transplant and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)-infected patients include mycobacterial spindle cell pseudotumor and suppurative lesions.

Background: Pseudochylothorax (PCT) (cholesterol pleurisy or chyliform effusion) is a cholesterol-rich pleural effusion (PE) that is commonly associated with chronic inflammatory disorders. Nevertheless, the characteristics of patients with PCT are poorly defined.
Methods: A systematic review was performed across two electronic databases searching for studies reporting clinical findings, PE characteristics, and the most effective treatment of PCT.

Chinese patent medicines play an important role in veterinary clinical use. The aim of this study is to research the anti-infection effect of Chinese patent medicine "Wuhuanghu" for the treatment of porcine infectious pleuropneumonia and to evaluate the safety of "Wuhuanghu" in order to provide a comprehensive understanding of its toxicity. The anti-infection results showed that the treatment with "Wuhuanghu" could significantly inhibit pneumonia and decrement of the pneumonia in high, medium and low doses of "Wuhuanghu" groups were 70.
